Bible Week 5

Mon.:Judges 4:4-24: Judge Deborah: How do people know that you care about them?
Nowadays it's difficult to see if someone really likes you or is just putting on an act. When I care for people I show them. I try hard not to make a mistake and seem like I don't like them. And it's the same way with people I don't necessarily care about. I don't like leading people on to think I'm their best friend. It's not fair at all for them.


Tues.:Judges 6:1-40: Gideon Becomes a Judge: What examples of obedience can be found in your life?
Examples of obedience in my life consist of staying strong with God's side and not letting anyone tear me down or doubt Him. I'm not perfect so it's sometimes hard to keep his other commandments. I try to be obedient though, the last thing I need to do is disobey God and get on His bad side.

Wed.:Judges 7:1-25:Gideon and the Midianites: In what area of your life do you need to trust God more?
I need to trust God more in many areas on my life. I know everything God does has a reason. I know everything He does is meant to happen that way. But it's hard to believe it, but I still trust Him no matter what. I will never stop trusting in Him and I will never leave His side. He has my word as I have His.

Thurs.: Judges 13: 1-25: The Birth of Samson: In which part of your life do you need more discipline?
I need more discipline in my area of worldliness. I get so caught up in it, it's hard to get back down. I hate it when I do because all I really want to do is Obey Him and worship Him and do nothing but love Him. I know it sounds easy, but it really isn't. It's hard to let go, even if they're sins. But I will break free and be back in His arms once more. I promise.

Bible Week 4

Monday:Joshua 5:13- 6:27. The Battle of Jericho: How serious are you about having God use you?

Joshua obeyed God immediately. He fell face first on the ground seeking God's wisdom and his plan. God commanded Joshua to march around a wall, with trumpets, and loud noises for 6 days. He did this with no question whatsoever, no backtalk, no groaning, no anything except obedience. I want to be able to do this. When I'm in a tricky situation and I don't know what to do, I want to be able to stop everything and just ask God, heart to heart. I want a relationship like that.

Tuesday:Joshua 7:1-26. Ultimate Consequences: What strongly negative or positive consequences have you experienced?

I have heard this story so many times, and each time I just shake my head. Why take things into your own hands when God is there directing you? God didn't tell you to do your own thing, He told you to obey Him and He will guide your path. If I had God talking directly to me, I wouldn't hesitate to ask Him what HE wants. Leading God's people is not for us to make decisions. It's God's people and all we are doing is being a messenger. I have faced many of both consequences, but I cannot remember a specific one clearly. And disregard my previous statement of, "I want a relationship like that." For if I were to disobey God and take things into my own hands, I don't know what I would do with myself.

Wednesday:Joshua 10:1-15. The Longest Day: How do you know god is powerful?

God stopping the Moon and the Sun is amazing. Which it shouldn't be since He created them. Our Savior, He can move the mountains. He can move the mountains! What kind of person wouldn't want to believe? I don't understand how we all get so surprised at God's miracles because what can God not do? God is amazing in every way, shape and form. If I were to witness that one day, I surely would never ever forget it and I would tell everyone of God's miracles.

Thursday:Joshua 23:1-16. Joshua Warns the Leaders: Which of Joshua’s warnings do you most need to obey?

I noticed Joshua resigned his leadership the same way Moses did. They both were very old. The warning that I most need to obey is probably "obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses". I know I'm not the only one who struggles with this. I am not blaming the world for my ways, but it surely does not help me stay focused on God. 


Friday:Joshua 24:1-31. Joshua’s Last Words: How can you get hope from history?
I can get hope from history by following what worked for them and by not doing what didn't. History is a way to find out what is wrong and what is right. If someone failed in previous times by doing something they shouldn't have, we will know the consequences. If someone succeeded in previous times, we will know the results.
